Police say a woman was found with non-life-threatening injuries in Milton Friday morning.

Police are investigating after a woman was found Friday suffering from stab wounds in Milton, Massachusetts, prompting a school lockdown in neighboring Quincy.

Authorities could not say where the stabbing took place, explaining that the victim was found in the Denmark Avenue area. Neighbors said police and EMS crews removed her from an SUV before towing the vehicle away.

The woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said. She was brought to a Boston hospital.

Quincy Catholic Academy, a private parochial school with 300 students between kindergarten and eighth grade, was locked down with a police presence outside.

Police in Quincy say the investigation is ongoing.
