A person claiming to have a gun robbed a CVS pharmacy in Braintree, Massachusetts, Thursday and remained at large as of Friday, after police combed nearby neighborhoods for the thief, authorities said.
A person called 911 from the CVS on Washington Street at about 2:30 p.m., saying a man entered the store, waited until all the other shoppers had left and then approached an employee and claimed to have a gun, Braintree police said.

Officers began to search the area with K-9 units and advised a local school to shelter in place — police dogs were searching backyards of homes near the store.
After two hours, police left the area and said they believed the person used nearby side streets to leave the area.
A woman told NBC10 Boston that she believed she saw the person police were looking for across her yard.
"I saw a man jump out of my backyard," said My Nguyen. "He tried to explain from the backyard — he was trying to find his way to the MBTA. He just smiled to me and just walked away and said, 'I took the wrong way.'"
Police asked Braintree residents near the Thayer Library, fire headquarters and Braintree Transit Station to search through security video footage for any sign of the robber.
