Police released a photo of the two people wanted in connection with the case and asked anyone with information to contact detectives at 617-343-4275.

Bodega's still-tearful owner, who asked not to be named, said the dog wandered to the front yard of her home Wednesday afternoon, but when she went to look for him, he was missing.

"I just, like, turned to come around and see what he was doing and out of nowhere he just disappeared," the woman said.

She said the 3-year-old dog grew up alongside her son.

"He's part of the family and we have been with him since he was a baby," she said.
