According to a police report, the victim -- an adult male -- was unconscious when he was found outside the Sephora store with severe injuries.

Investigators haven't said how the four young men were suspected to have been involved, or what led to the altercation.

Some people in the area expressed surprise about the violence in the heart of Boston's tourism zone.

"It’s beautiful here but it does get dangerous,” said Jaiden Lee, who lives in the area. "I stay with my friends, I make sure I have my location on and everything.”

“Very surprised, it’s always a busy area, heavy traffic for lunch, breakfast, it’s very crowded so I’m surprised it would take place right here," said Tashon Lowe, who works in the area. "I walk here almost everyday."

The images police released are very clear, and they're hoping for some solid leads from the public to help identify them. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call police at 617-343-4571.
