As police continue to investigate the shooting of a 9-year-old girl in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood, authorities have learned the attack was caught on camera.
Investigators are now looking for two men who were seen on surveillance footage opening fire at children playing at a playground on Annunciation Road early Sunday morning.
"A little 9-year-old," said neighbor Abraham Oliva. "How does a little 9-year-old get shot?"
The girl was shot around 1 a.m. during a birthday party at the center of a housing complex. She was taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery.
The victim is expected to recover.
Police say the gunmen came out of a white SUV and appeared to fire randomly.
The housing complex is located behind the Boston Police headquarters and next to Northeastern University.
One neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said the area is too dangerous for children to be out at night.
"It's upsetting because I have grandkids around that age," said the neighbor. "It's upsetting."
