New Bedford Woman Dies in Dartmouth Crash

A 20-year-old New Bedford woman died after being ejected from her car in a crash on Route 195 west in Dartmouth Friday morning.

Massachusetts State Police found the woman, identified as Cali McMullen, shortly before 2 a.m. on the road near her 2009 Honda Civic, which had sustained significant damage. She was pronounced dead on scene.

The westbound lanes were closed between exit 22 and exit 19 for a few hours during the investigation. All lanes reopened shortly after 5 a.m.

Preliminary investigation indicates that McMullen lost control of the Civic, which struck the guardrail, sustained heavy damage, and came to rest in the median. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police. Dartmouth Police, Fire, and EMS also responded.
