The video shows the shooter's vehicle parked right out in front of the grocery store in the fire lane, when the man, in a white T-shirt, approaches a driver in a gray hoodie. The two men appear to have a tense exchange, before the man in the hoodie pulls out a gun and shoots the other man in the stomach.

As the victim runs off, the shooter appears to put the gun back in his waistband and get back into his vehicle.

Investigators say the man who was shot was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive, Revere police said Wednesday, without identifying him.

The suspected gunman was identified Wednesday as Carl Taylor-Tripp, 20. He was arrested in Everett, and a gun with an extended magazine was found shortly afterward, according to police. Wednesday he was arraigned at Chelsea District Court on charges including armed assault with intent to murder.

Prosecutors said the shooting stemmed from an argument between Tayor-Tripp's girlfriend and another woman who was with the victim at a nearby gas station.

"What is informed officers that there were a history of ongoing issues between one of the individuals with the victim as well as the defendant's girlfriend, Jamie as they do live near each other," Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Daniel Moynihan said in court.

The whole situation was caught on the dash camera of a nearby car.

The court noted that Taylor-Tripp has an open case out of Lowell where he's accused of intimidating a witness back in February, and has been on probation for an armed robbery and possession of a firearm out of Cambridge.

"There’s a dangerousness hearing set up for next Tuesday and the judge will determine whether my client is a danger to society. If the judge finds that he is, he would be held for 120 days," Defense attorney Richard Barrett said.

Prosecutors noted that the victim is in stable condition as of Wednesday.

Taylor-Tripp will remain behind bars until at least next Tuesday when he's scheduled for a new hearing.

Stop & Shop issued a statement Wednesday saying they were aware of the "unfortunate incident" outside their Revere store and are cooperating with police in their investigation.

"The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are thankful for local law enforcement and first responders for their swift response," the statement said. "The Revere store has reopened to serve the community."

One witness says he couldn't believe the violence that unfolded just feet away from himself and other shoppers.

"The big guy runs down the fire lane area in the Stop and Shop lot and I’m assuming he got shot because he was holding his stomach," he said. "Going to the supermarket every day is safe to me. I always charge my car but now today it’s just a little scary now."
