Route 16 reopens near Pinkham Notch Visitor Center after crash

11/3/24 UPDATE: New Hampshire State Police say a 77-year-old man died following a two-vehicle crash on Route 16.

A crash Saturday night near the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center temporarily closed Route 16 in the area, with the roadway not reopening until Sunday morning, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Few details were immediately available, including whether or not there were any injuries.

State police first announced the closure around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, saying troopers were on scene investigating. Drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible.

Around 7:20 a.m. Sunday, state police said the road had reopened.

Additional information regarding the crash will be forthcoming, police added.
