A resident and two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in Saugus Thursday.
A fire tore through a home Thursday night in Saugus, Massachusetts.
The blaze broke out on Acadia Avenue. A resident and two police officers were hospitalized with smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also hurt when he was bitten by a dog.

Several pets were rescued from the home, fire officials said.

There was a large response to the neighborhood near Rumney Marsh Reservation, but crews had trouble getting water on the fire.
"This is a tight neighborhood. We're up on a hill," Saugus Deputy Fire Chief Tom D'Eon said. "It's very challenging to get the apparatus in."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters from nearby towns were assisting the Saugus Fire Department.
