Two people were killed in a crash on Route 140 in Freetown, Massachusetts, according to state police.
State police said they received 911 reports around 8:15 a.m. of a black Kia Sedona that was operating erratically on Route 140 north. As troopers were responding to the scene, a caller reported that the minivan had crashed into three other vehicles, gone off the highway and struck a tree.

When they arrived, state police said they found two people inside the Kia suffering from serious injuries.
The driver, a 54-year-old man, and a 70-year-old female passenger, both from New Bedford, died at the scene. Their names have not been released by police.

The driver of one of the vehicles that was hit by the Kia suffered minor injuries, police said.
The right lane and breakdown lane were closed for several hours as a result of the crash, but the scene was cleared by 11 a.m., the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said.
No further details were released.
