A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 3 south in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on Friday morning.
State police said they responded to the scene of the crash near Exit 38B shortly after 5 a.m. They said the three vehicles involved were a Mazda CX5 SUV, a Smart Fortwo car and a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV.

The driver of the Mazda, a 40-year-old man, was taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to state police. His name has not been released.
There was no word on whether anyone else was injured.

MassDOT said the crash caused significant delays, as the left two lanes of Route 3 were closed for a time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, state police said.
