According to the fire chief, the flames were concentrated in the balcony area along the side of the building.

Firefighters and police officers rescued five people from the building.

Three residents were transported to the hospital and three police officers were transported for smoke inhalation.

There are 10 living units in the building with up to 25 people that have all been displaced as of Sunday morning. It'll likely take some time before those who live in the building can get back to their homes, especially the ones whose units were directly affected.

After knocking down the fire, crews remained in the area ensuring all the hot spots where also put out.

At this time, families will have to find another place to stay because the entire building has been shut down.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
