Family shaken after their Brockton home was damaged by gunfire

Brockton police say no injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made

Shots were fired at a home in Brockton, Massachusetts, overnight, and an investigation is underway.

Brockton police confirm they received a call around 3:34 a.m. for an incident on Hammond Street.

“When police arrived they found about nine shell casings and property damage to our house," said Brockton Police Spokesman Darren Duarte.

Duarte added that they are looking for a white sedan that was seen leaving the scene.

“It’s unfortunate this happened,” he said. “Thankfully no one was injured.”

The woman in the home wonders what motive someone would have to want to target her house. She lives there with her mother and four children.

No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made, police say.

“I was awake. I heard six or seven gunshots and I know they were pretty close from the sound,” said Mike Rosanna, who lives a few doors down from the home that was shot at.

Further details were not immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing.
