Power restored after Red Line incident that prompted shuttles to replace train service

The MBTA said Monday night that regular service would soon resume on the Red Line after a power incident.

Shuttle buses had been replacing MBTA Red Line service between Ashmont and JFK/UMass because of fire department activity related to a power issue, the agency said Monday. No further details were immediately available about the nature of the issue.

Around 10 p.m., the MBTA said power had been restored and that service would be back to normal shortly.

Riders had been told to expect delays in the area.
