A woman is dead and another remains hospitalized after they received the same medical procedure at a home in Somerville, Massachusetts, on Thursday, investigators said Monday.
A law enforcement source has told the NBC10 Investigators the woman died in connection with an alleged illegal liposuction operation.

Detectives have remained tight-lipped about the incident, only calling what happened a medical procedure. They have not identified the people who allegedly conducted the procedure, or said if they have any kind of medical expertise or licenses.
No arrests have been announced, and officials have not said if anyone will face charges in the case.

Neighbors in Somerville and Everett said there was a large police presence during the investigation Friday morning.
The woman who died was a 35-year-old from Everett who was found in medical distress at her home on Bucknam Street Friday, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Somerville Police Chief Charles Femino. She was rushed to Cambridge Health Alliance Everett and pronounced dead.
Investigators found she'd gotten a medical procedure done the day before at the Somerville home, then learned that another woman had the same procedure done — they didn't specify what it was — at the same place, and was taken to a hospital in Boston, where she remained as of Monday.
Everett police have said a patient who lives in the city went home after getting the procedure, and the person ended up at a Cambridge Health Alliance facility early Friday morning.
Investigators said they were still looking into how the women were hurt and what the procedure was. The cause of the Everett woman's death was still pending as medical examiners investigated.
Family members of both women have declined to comment.
State and local police were investigating along with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Anyone with information about what happened was asked to contact Somerville police at 617-625-1600 or state police at 781-897-6600.
