Two teenagers are in the hospital after a pickup truck hit the moped they were riding Thursday night in South Boston.
Investigators say both victims are in their late teens. One of the teens suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, while the second has non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Authorities responded to East Eighth Street near the intersection of Patterson around 9 p.m. Thursday.
One woman who witnessed the crash says it unfolded so quickly.
"I seen the car coming down this street, and then the moped coming up the other street, and they crashed," said Jenny Rodriguez. "Really bad. They, like, flew."
The victims have not been identified.
The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene, according to police. It's unclear if the driver will face any charges.
The crash is under investigation.
