Man found shot dead near NH resort, second man found wounded nearby

Investigators asked that anyone who was in the Nordic Wilderness area of the Nordic Village Resort to contact New Hampshire State Police

A man was found fatally shot at a building near a resort area in New Hampshire's White Mountains early Monday morning, authorities said, and another man was found wounded a mile and a half away.

The two men are believed to have known each other and their shootings are believed to be related, according to state and local investigators. There was believed to be no immediate threat to the public.

One man was found dead after 911 was called to a residence on Nordic Wilderness Road in Bartlett, New Hampshire, about 1:06 a.m., according to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, state police and Bartlett police. Samuel Lozado, 23, was had been shot multiple times.

Another 911 call was made about the other wounded person found nearby — officials didn't give the location — and the 24-year-old man was rushed to a hospital in the area. He was then taken out of state, where he was in stable condition Monday afternoon and expected to survive, officials said.

Investigators didn't share what's believed to have led to the shooting or shootings or identify the man who survived. But they asked that anyone who was in the Nordic Wilderness area of the Nordic Village Resort to contact state police detectives at 603-223-3856 or MCU@dos.nh.gov, or by contacting police headquarters at 603-223-4381.

The building on Nordic Wilderness Road is near the Nordic Village Resort's rental office but is not within the resort, according to a person at the resort. They had no comment on the investigation.

Bartlett is a town of about 3,200 people northwest of Conway.
