Man Accused of Killing 14-Year-Old Stepson, Critically Injuring Girlfriend in Brockton Shooting

A man is behind bars after allegedly shooting his 14-year-old stepson to death and injuring the child’s mother.

A teenager was killed and a woman was seriously hurt in a shooting early Tuesday morning in Brockton, Massachusetts, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

The suspected shooter is the boy's stepfather, Justelino Resende, 38. He appeared in Brockton District Court Tuesday to face charges of murder and assault.

The shooting left a 14-year-old boy dead, and a 39-year-old woman seriously hurt, authorities said. The shooting took place on Tribou Street just before 2 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing by Massachusetts State Police and the Brockton Police Department.
