The Lawrence Fire Chief said everyone made it out without injuries; 15 people lived inside the building. The fire started at the bottom left corner of the building and spread straight up through all the floors. Some people heard alarms, others were notified by neighbors calls.

Cindya Martinez, whose family owns the home, said she found out about the fire when her sister called.

"It hurts. This is where I grew up. So it’s hard, but I’m just happy everyone made it out OK," Martinez said.

The scene was very active early Tuesday with fire departments from surrounding towns responding as well as Massachusetts State Police. The state fire marshal was also on scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No further information was immediately available.
