Truck carrying lye rolls over near Boston's Logan airport, driver hurt

Lane closures were in place at the scene, which is down the street from the airport's economy parking lot

State police said the driver was taken to a local hospital.

A truck crashed on a service road near Boston Logan International Airport on Wednesday, sending its driver to the hospital, police said.

The tractor-trailer's driver, a 62-year-old man from Methuen, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, police said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The truck, which was carrying a cargo container, had rolled on its side. It was carrying a form of the cleaning agent lye, according to police.

Heavy-duty tow trucks returned the tractor-trailer to its wheels and took it from the scene, down the street from the airport's economy parking lot. Massport cleaned up the mess.
