"Upon arrival, the front of the building was fully involved with fire," Deputy Chief Scott Malone said on scene. "That trapped the people on the second floor. And Ladder 29 ran a ground ladder to the second floor and rescued two adults and six-year-old child as well as a cat."
Four adults and a child have been displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross will help them to find housing.
The fire was contained to just the one home, despite many other buildings being so close by.
Fire officials have not said what may have started the fire.
