In the last week, the Wellesley school district had 48 new positive tests, most of which were at the high school. Since the beginning of the school year, the district has recorded 155 positive COVID-19, cases with the majority being at the high school and middle school.

"It's unfortunate, but you gotta do what you gotta do," said one elementary school parent. "As a parent, I'm very concerned about all the crazy numbers."

Since Christmas, the district has recorded 26 positive cases among its high school athletes across multiple sports. There are about 500 students participating in the high school's winter athletics program.

This week, the school postpone two hockey games, a girls basketball game and a boys and girls track meet.

The suspension of the programs is until further notice and includes all practices and games, meets or competitions.
