Boston Bruins Legend Ray Bourque Pleads Guilty to Drunken Driving
Bourque, 55, received a 45-day license revocation, but will not face any travel restrictions. Prosecutors had asked for a 90-day license revocation, but Bourque’s lawyer noted that he is already facing an automatic 180-day suspension for refusing to take a Breathalyzer test.

Bourque’s lawyer, Gerard LaFlamme, said his client told him from the beginning: “I made a mistake, I had a lapse in judgment,” and wanted to make sure he was accountable for his actions.
“It takes a man of a lot of integrity to stand up and do the right thing,” LaFlamme said. “It’s not done very often.”

Police said Bourque had a blood-alcohol level of 0.249, three times the state’s legal limit to drive. His lawyer said he had been drinking at a private residence.
