They said Lewisville Fire then arrived on scene and rescued a third child from the car, who was also unconscious and was resuscitated in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The two youngest children who had to be revived were taken to Children's Legacy in Plano, according to police.
Lewisville Police said the mother was conscious and she and the oldest child were examined at Medical City in Lewisville.
Police said two of the children are in stable condition and a third is in critical condition. It's not been confirmed which child is in critical condition.
“I saw what I thought was an accident but it turned out, I guess, a little bit more than an accident," said Wallace Rose, who was walking through the area after fishing nearby. “I’m not really religious but if I was, I’d pray for the family. I hope that they are okay.”
Police said they later confirmed the woman pulled from the vehicle in the pond was the wife of the man who had been stabbed. Carrollton Police said the woman was taken into police custody and will face criminal charges.
Police said family members are cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
