Bill Belichick’s team is coming off a dismal Week 1 defeat against the Miami Dolphins. The offense lost all momentum after a promising first drive ended with an interception, and it wound up mustering just one touchdown in a 20-7 loss to its division rival.
Mac Jones ended the game with 213 yards on 21-for-30 passing to go along with one touchdown, the aforementioned interception and a strip sack that was run into the end zone. The bigger news for Jones came after the loss, when it was revealed that Jones suffered a back injury. X-rays reportedly were negative, but it is an injury worth monitoring heading into Week 2.

The Patriots’ Week 2 opponent, the Pittsburgh Steelers, were dealt a major injury blow of their own despite upsetting the defending AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals on a game-winning field goal. T.J. Watt suffered a pectoral injury, and the fear is that he tore his pec and could miss the rest of the 2022 season. Watt and the Pittsburgh defense wreaked havoc against the Bengals offense and Mitch Trubisky came away with a win in his first start with the organization.
