Friday, Dec. 27: Rumored Red Sox target Teoscar Hernandez is off the board. The slugging outfielder has re-signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on a three-year deal worth $66 million, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.

Friday, Dec. 27: The Red Sox "remain interested" in free agent infielder Alex Bregman, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The Detroit Tigers have interested in Bregman as well but agreed to a one-year, $15 million contract with infielder Gleyber Torres on Friday morning, per reports.
Monday, Dec. 23: According to multiple reports, the Red Sox have signed veteran right-hander Walker Buehler to a one-year, $21.05 million contract. Buehler, a two-time All-Star, had a 5.38 ERA in 16 starts with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season but turned it around in the playoffs, particularly in the World Series when he tossed six scoreless innings in two appearances.
Sunday, Dec. 15: The Red Sox traded infielder/outfielder Enmanuel Valdez to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for right-hander Joe Vogatsky.
Thursday, Dec. 12: The Red Sox have had talks with free-agent left-hander John Means, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: The Red Sox announced they have acquired catcher Carlos Narvaez from the New York Yankees in exchange for minor league right-hander Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz and international bonus pool space. To make room for Narvaez on the roster, they designated infielder/outfielder Enmanuel Valdez for assignment.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: After acquiring Garrett Crochet, the Red Sox are working on trading for one of the Seattle Mariners' starting pitchers, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network. That could mean one of George Kirby, Logan Gilbert, Bryan Woo, Bryce Miller, or Luis Castillo.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: The Red Sox are acquiring White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet in a trade that will send four of Boston's prospects -- catcher Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth and right-hander Wikelman Gonzalez -- to Chicago, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
Wednesday, Dec. 11: After missing out on Max Fried, the Red Sox "appear hesitant to spend what it will take" to sign right-hander Corbin Burnes, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports.
Feinsand adds that Boston instead could pursue a reunion with Nick Pivetta, who posted a 4.14 ERA with the team last season.
Tuesday, Dec. 10: Another rumored Red Sox target is off the board. Left-hander Max Fried is signing an eight-year contract worth $218 million with the New York Yankees, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Sunday, Dec. 8: How close were the Red Sox in the Juan Soto sweepstakes? MassLive's Sean McAdam reports Boston's last and best offer to Soto was around $700 million for 15 years.
Soto instead agreed to a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets, which is the largest contract in professional sports history.
Saturday, Dec. 7: Red Sox free agent Tyler O'Neill won't be returning to Boston as the slugging outfielder signed a three-year deal worth $49.5 million with the Baltimore Orioles, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Saturday, Dec. 7: Another reported Red Sox target is off the board as shortstop Willy Adames signed a seven-year deal worth $182 million with the San Francisco Giants, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Wednesday, Dec. 4: Another encouraging update on the Red Sox' chances of signing free-agent superstar Juan Soto. According to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe, the Red Sox are not among the teams that have been eliminated from the Soto sweepstakes.
"At a time when a decision appears to be drawing nearer, the Red Sox remain a factor," Speier writes.
Tuesday, Dec. 3: Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic shared an update on the Juan Soto sweepstakes.
"The Mets are widely regarded as the favorite for Soto, with many in the industry believing the team’s owner, Steve Cohen, will top any rival bid. But the Yankees desperately want to keep Soto as a complement to Judge, and the Red Sox have emerged as a surprising force in the negotiations."
Rosenthal adds that all remaining contenders have made offers worth more than $600 million.
Tuesday, Dec. 3: MLB Network's Jon Morosi stated he has heard the Red Sox are among the teams that could trade for St. Louis Cardinals All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado.
Tuesday, Dec. 3: The Red Sox have agreed to a one-year, $10.75 million contract with free-agent reliever Aroldis Chapman, ESPN's Jeff Passan reports. Chapman, 36, posted a 3.79 ERA with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season.
Saturday, Nov. 30: Randy Miller of NJ.com said on WFAN that he believes the Red Sox and Mets are the finalists for superstar free agent Juan Soto.
Wednesday, Nov. 27: Blake Snell is off the board. The free-agent left-hander, who reportedly had a meeting with the Red Sox, has agreed to a five-year, $182 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, per reports.
Tuesday, Nov. 26: The Red Sox are one of five teams that have made an offer to Juan Soto in free agency, joining the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays, MLB Network's Jon Morosi reports.
Hector Gomez of Z101 Digital also reports the Red Sox have "increased their original offer" to Soto in terms of both years and total value.
Monday, Nov. 25: The Red Sox have "strong interest" in free-agent shortstop Willy Adames, who is willing to move to third base, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY. Nightengale adds that Boston has an upcoming meeting with Adames and has internally discussed moving Rafael Devers off third base.
Thursday, Nov. 21: The Red Sox "recently met" with free-agent pitcher Blake Snell, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports. Boston also is talking to high-profile starters Corbin Burnes and Max Fried as well, per Rosenthal.
Tuesday, Nov. 19: The Red Sox have had conversations with free-agent starting pitcher Shane Bieber's representation, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Murray adds that he believes Boston's roster will be "much improved" by the end of the offseason.
Monday, Nov. 18: Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic states that the Red Sox are "being very active on both the trade and free agent fronts." He adds that Boston wasn't willing to do big things last year, but "now they are."

Thursday, Nov. 14: The Red Sox have signed left-handed reliever Justin Wilson to a one-year contract, according to FanSided's Robert Murray. Wilson, 37, posted a 5.59 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 60 appearances for the Cincinnati Reds last season.
