The Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the Golden State Warriors at home on Sunday, but the team suffered an even bigger loss during the game.
Star center Chet Holmgren came down with a pelvic injury midway through the first quarter and was ruled out of the game in the third.

Holmgren went up to contest Andrew Wiggins' shot but came down hard as the Warriors forward got the bucket.

At that point, Holmgren recorded just four rebounds in five minutes on 0-for-3 shooting but needed to be helped to the locker room.
The Thunder later announced that Holmgren had suffered a right iliac wing fracture and that an update on his status will be provided in eight to 10 weeks. The team said Holmgren is expected to return this season.
Holmgren, 22, missed what was supposed to be his rookie year in 2022-23 with a Lisfranc injury. He played his actual rookie season last year and helped guide the Thunder to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Holmgren entered Sunday's game averaging 18.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 2.2 assists per game on a 52/40/78 shooting split.
