Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday afternoon that closer Matt Barnes is going on the COVID-19 IL.
Barnes has not tested positive for the virus, according to Cora. Another player who wasn't named is also feeling unwell, Cora said, but also tested negative.

The 31-year-old Barnes was a first-time All-Star this season for the Red Sox, recording 23 saves with a 2.30 ERA over 43 innings pitched.
