The sky is falling at AT&T Stadium.
While opening the roof before the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans game on Monday night, a piece of metal came loose and fell to the field.

Additional small debris fell and no injuries were reported.
On X, AT&T Stadium posted a video of the roof open but did not mention the falling debris.

Outside the stadium before kick-off, fans viewed the incident as a metaphor for the season.
"We’re literally falling apart," said Erica Salazar who made a sign with a message about the roof. "Fix the roof! Bring some sunshine into our lives, Jerry, please!"

Shortly after the incident, a representative of the Dallas Cowboys told NBC 5 that it was being reviewed and a decision regarding the ability to re-open the roof would be made when possible.
In an update at about 8 p.m., the representative said the incident resulted from high wind bursts during the day and while opening the roof.
The roof was open for only about 15 minutes. It remained closed throughout the game.
A second piece of loose metal could be seen in the stadium rafters but did not fall and was stabilized prior to kick-off, the representative said in an email.
The roof is the second recent issue at AT&T Stadium.
Earlier this month, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said he lost sight of a ball in the end zone because of glare from the sun through a window.
"So it sounds like they need curtains around the stadium which Jerry has said he is not going to do, and now the roof is falling down. So it’s sort of like the Cowboys season is crashing down," said Jeff Johnston, a Houston Texans fan.
Heading into Monday night's game, the Cowboys were 3-6 this season.
