Boston Red Sox fans lined up to try their luck in a new and unique way on Friday afternoon.
It may be the middle of December and freezing outside, but that didn't stop Red Sox fans from trying to score tickets for the upcoming season.
The team set up a one-of-a-kind vending machine that contained an array of prizes, including season tickets.
Even if fans weren't lucky enough to win tickets, signed memorabilia, among other team-related items were available.
The vending machine was located outside the Prudential Center and it was part of a social media promotion involving Twitter and Instagram. Sox fans were able to obtain a prize by using the hashtag "Gift of Sox."
The event ran through Friday evening. Tickets for select April and May games go on sale Dec. 13.
